Emergency preparedness trainings
Multiple dates
UHealth employees can register to attend emergency preparedness training sessions, which are required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Agency For Health Care Administration (AHCA) and The Joint Commission (TJC). Learn how to properly prepare for and react to a variety of settings, including active shooter and other high-stakes scenarios. Find the session that best fits your schedule. Lot closure and roadway interruption on the Coral Gables campus

The Watsco Center will be hosting the annual Premios Juventud award ceremony on Thursday, July 18. Faculty Staff Assistance Program summer walking series
Wednesday, July 24–Friday, July 26
Pack your walking shoes and join a monthly mindful midday stroll—complete with breathing, stretching, and meditation exercises—on the Gables, RSMAS, or medical campus. UM employees can register for a session in July or August facilitated by a Faculty Staff Assistance Program consultant. Employees enrolled in UM’s Well ’Canes program can earn points by attending these sessions. Learn more by reading the latest newsletter.

Living healthy workshop
Tuesday, July 30 at 11 a.m.
If you’re looking for ideas and tips to inspire your cooking and workout regimen, join the next workshop at the Diabetes Research Institute on the medical campus. This two-hour interactive session led by a registered dietitian and certified wellness professional from the UHealth Fitness and Wellness Center will show you how to easily change recipes to make them healthier and develop activities that suits your needs. Big Brother Big Sisters information session and orientation
Thursday, Aug. 22 and Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 3 p.m.
Looking for a rewarding way to give back to and impact the community? UM employees can learn about the Big Brothers Big Sisters School to Work Program and how to become a Big, or mentor, to a local high school student. All experience levels and job functions are welcome to be part of the program. Participation is limited to full-time UM faculty and staff. Register to attend a session on either the Coral Gables or medical campus. Learn more about the program.
