What to do when you’re expecting
Monday, Sept. 23–Thursday, Sept. 26 at 12 p.m.
Whether you’re expanding your family or need to take a leave of absence, knowing your next steps will help you plan ahead. Eligible employees will learn how to navigate the process of taking family and medical leave and using short term disability benefits. Register to attend an information session on either the Coral Gables campus, marine campus, or medical campus. If you can’t make it, watch the sessions live on the University’s Livestream account. Celebrate the right to read!
Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m.
The University of Miami Libraries will commemorate the American Library Association's Banned Books Week 2019 with a read out of previously banned or challenged works. Since 1982, the American Library Association has designated this annual week to raise awareness of banned and challenged books and the consequences of censorship. Register to attend the free event on Tuesday, Sept. 24, which is open to the public.

LinkedIn Learning courses now available in ULearn

Access thousands of courses and online videos covering business, technology, and creative and professional skills from ULearn, including content from LinkedIn Learning—formerly Lynda.com. This integration gives users the ability to track progress and coursework, find relevant course recommendations, and access intuitive management tools for supervisors even on a mobile device. Learn more about these free resources, which are available to UM staff, faculty, and student employees.

2019 Faculty Showcase 
Thursday, Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This annual teaching and learning conference invites University faculty, staff, and graduate students to discover meaningful teaching initiatives, strategies, and resources with the goal of supporting faculty development and impacting student learning.
