Showing your ’Canes Pride
’Canes fans showcased their spirit this year by dressing up in orange, green, and white at several sporting events, including Hurricanes football games at the Hard Rock Stadium. Whether it was in their office or during the actual games, we love seeing University faculty and staff posting photos of themselves cheering on our student athletes. View photos.
Dolphins Cancer Challenge IX
More than 5,000 participants rode, ran, or walked 62,136 miles to support Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Dolphins Cancer Challenge IX in an effort to fight cancer. Among the thousands of participants 965 represented Team Hurricanes—an 18 percent increase over DCC VIII in 2018—and Life@TheU was there to capture the behind-the-scenes moments. View photos.

Disabilities Awareness Month
As part of Disabilities in the Workplace Awareness month, we featured a handful of UM employees who work tirelessly to advance the mission of the University while inspiring others to look beyond their disability and see the abilities that fuel their successes. Our video gives others the opportunity to hear from our employees in their own words sharing about their experience, shining a light on abilities. Learn more.
MyUCareer
Nearly 300 University employees attended the inaugural MyUCareer training and expo on the Coral Gables campus. The event, hosted by Human Resources, was open to all University staff interested in developing their skills in their current roles and plan for future aspirations within the University. View photos.
