Become a part of the Hurricanes’ cancer-fighting community

By Life@TheU
Gilberto Lima Lopes believes that the Dolphins Cancer Challenge unites our community to tackle cancer.

For Gilberto Lima Lopes, associate director of global oncology for Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, fighting cancer is a team effort. For the past three years, he has participated in the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) and equates it to a party filled with faculty, staff, and members of the community working together toward one goal—beating cancer. “We have made advancements in the past few years that have revolutionized the way we treat cancer,” he said.

Watch the video and learn more about how Lopes credits DCC with helping advance cancer research, getting us closer to a cure.
