A passion for fighting cancer

Join Jacqueline Travisano, executive vice president for business and finance and chief operating officer at the University of Miami, to fight cancer, and find ways to show your support for Team Hurricanes today.

It’s the final stretch before the Dolphins Cancer Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 29, at Hard Rock Stadium and Team Hurricanes is gearing up, including Jacqueline Travisano, executive vice president for business and finance and chief operating officer at the University of Miami. As chair of DCC, Travisano is personally connected to the fight against cancer.

“In my life I’ve lost two dear friends to cancer, and I fight for them,” said Travisano. “Participating in the DCC is so motivating because you’re alongside survivors—people who have been impacted by the work being done by the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.”

There’s no hard and fast way to screen for ovarian cancer, but the team at Sylvester is working on trials for screening, and the funds raised at DCC go directly toward supporting that research.

There are plenty of ways to support Team Hurricanes at DCC by registering to walk, run, or ride. Can’t attend? Visit www.dolphinscancerchallenge.com and donate to your favorite Team Hurricanes participant or team.
