Attendees will learn first-hand from panelists—leaders at the University of Miami and South Florida—about some of the pivotal experiences and decisions that shaped their careers and personal growth. A Faculty Senate meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m. at the Gordon Center Auditorium in the Don Soffer Clinical Research Center at the Miller School of Medicine. Participate in Walking ’Canes—and earn Well ’Canes points
Registration deadline extended to Monday, Feb. 24
There’s still time to register for the Walking 'Canes step challenge, which runs through Monday, May 18. Stay active, motivated, and earn points as part of the Well ’Canes incentives program. University faculty and staff members who are enrolled in the UM Aetna health plan are eligible to register for the beginner, intermediate, or advanced level based on average weekly steps. UAccelerate information session
Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 12 p.m.
Grab a free slice of pizza and learn about UAccelerate, a new program offered by the College of Arts and Sciences’ Office of Interdisciplinary and Professional Studies that allows students to complete a handful of master’s programs in one year at a reduced rate. University students, faculty, and staff are invited to register to attend the information session on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 12 p.m. at the Shalala Student Center. Learn more.

Inclusive workshop to promote effective communication
Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 2:30 p.m.
University faculty and staff members are invited to register for an upcoming workshop hosted by the University of Miami Human Resources Office of Workplace Equity and Inclusion and the Lowe Art Museum to celebrate Black History Month. Through participant-led discussions focused on works of art from the exhibition, “History, Labor, Life: The Prints of Jacob Lawrence,” participants will engage their minds, stimulate their vision, and enhance their skills while learning to support an inclusive workplace and community.
