All University faculty members are invited to attend the meeting this week. It will be held virtually. Learn more about the senate, its representatives, and get meeting information.

Join Sebastian for a Halloween reading party.
Thursday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m.
Children in kindergarten through grade 5 are invited to join Sebastian’s Reading Squad for a special event. Participants will listen to Sebastian read a Halloween-themed book, watch him play trivia, and find out who’s in the lead on the reading squad challenge. Register your child. Presented by the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the initiative encourages elementary schoolchildren to proactively read. Students enrolled in the program can track their progress as they aim to read a minimum of 120 minutes within each season.

Make your benefits elections this week. 
Deadline is Friday, Oct. 29.
This is the final week for University employees to make adjustments to their medical, dental, disability, and flexible spending account benefits. Learn everything you need to know about Open Enrollment, including answers to frequently asked questions. Note, the final open enrollment information session, hosted by experts from Human Resources’ Total Rewards pay and benefits team, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. Learn more.

Enroll in a virtual aromatherapy intensive class. 
Saturday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m.
During the 3.5-hour course aimed at supporting health care practitioners, participants will delve into various approaches to be more effective and compassionate with their patients and themselves under the duress of this demanding occupation. Offered by the Miller School of Medicine’s Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, the instructor will address the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of self-care and examine corresponding tools to manage them. This class will especially focus on discussing the benefits of essential oils to enhance and bring balance to each of these various facets of self-care.
