5 things you need to know this week

Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The Office of Emergency Management will conduct a test of the cable TV and VoIP phone alerting capabilities at the Coral Gables Campus. The test of the cable TV system will occur between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and the test of the VoIP phones will occur at 5:30 p.m. The test messages will last approximately one minute and clearly state that it is a test. Contact the Office of Emergency Management at oem@miami.edu with any questions regarding the test.

The UHealth Fitness and Wellness Center is offering two promotions this holiday season: a four-week membership pass, which may be redeemed in 2022, and a discounted membership for new patrons to start now or in the new year. The special pass price—20 percent off—is only available during December. Both promotions are redeemable exclusively at UHealth Fitness and Wellness Center on the Medical Campus. Pass holders can take full advantage of facility amenities, including access to the sauna, towels, showers, and locker services, and access to two floors of fitness equipment. Coral Gables parking zone color restrictions lifted during winter break.
Now through Monday, Jan. 17.
During these dates, a parking permit is still required to park on campus between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. Additionally, the shuttles will run on a limited service. Enforcement of color restrictions will resume Tuesday, Jan. 18. For more information, contact Parking and Transportation Services at 305-284-3096, press option 2. Well ’Canes Incentive Program launches new website.

The 2022 Well ’Canes Incentive Program is now available with a brand new look. The program is designed to encourage employees to learn about their personal health, motivate them to maintain or improve their overall well-being, and earn up to $300. To participate, eligible faculty and staff members must be enrolled in the University’s Aetna medical plan as the primary policy holder and create a new account.
