Earn Well ’Canes points this summer

Summer is heating up and so are the opportunities for eligible faculty and staff members to earn up to $300 by participating in the Well ’Canes Incentive Program. Explore the many ways to earn points and stay healthy this summer.

Complete the wellness assessment and earn points.

It’s not too late to get a pulse on your well-being or to begin earning points. If you’re new to the Well ’Canes Incentive Program, or you’re unsure of how to get started, read more about setting up an account and how to earn your first 250 points.

Schedule your annual preventative appointments.

Did you know that you can earn points simply by getting your preventative exams? Visit a UHealth or Aetna provider to receive your annual physical or well woman exam before Oct. 31 and earn points while checking up on your health. Eligible members also can earn points for colonoscopy and mammogram screenings.

Explore online sessions to promote health and wellness.

One-hour sessions—found under the “events” tab—dive into trending wellness topics and help you to earn points. Explore webinars such as Technology and Mental Health, on June 9, 1-2 p.m.; Burnout and Self-care, July 21, 1-2 p.m.; and Training for Your First 5K/10K, July 28, 1-2 p.m. New topics and sessions are updated regularly.

Practice mindfulness.

Earn up to 50 ’Well Canes points by creating healthy habits through mindfulness. Have you spent time in nature recently, listened to a podcast, or shared time with friends? All of these activities can be eligible for points when documented on your account. Explore the “Mindfulness in Practice” section of the incentives guide to review the list of qualifying activities or register for an upcoming Faculty and Staff Assistance wellness webinar.

Complete the Guardrails Wellness program.

Use the summer to hone in on your wellness through the University of Miami’s Guardrails Wellness program. The free service, provided by University researchers, is centered on personalized health and wellness tactics to help prevent chronic disease by encouraging healthy behaviors. Visit guardrailsprevention.com to schedule a virtual assessment. To earn up to 300 ’Well Canes points, schedule a follow up assessment in six weeks to show that you have maintained a healthy score or improved your scores from the initial assessment.
