Attend the Faculty Senate Awards ceremony.

Members of the University community are invited to join President Julio Frenk and the Faculty Senate in honoring this year’s Faculty Senate Awardees. The James W. McLamore Outstanding Service Award will be presented to Linda Neider, professor and chair of the Department of Management in the Miami Herbert Business School; the Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award will be presented to Antonio Nanni, professor and chair of the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering in the College of Engineering; the Outstanding Teaching Award for undergraduate teaching will be presented to Burjor Captain, associate professor of chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences; and the Outstanding Teaching Award for graduate teaching will be presented to Tatiana Perrino, professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences in the Miller School of Medicine. Learn about Indigenous people and their impact.
Thursday, April 13, at 2:30 p.m.
Join a conversation about Indigenous history and contemporary culture in the United States. The virtual event will be hosted by Marisa Page, a citizen of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma and descendant of the Ponca and Comanche tribes. Participants will learn how to be an ally to Indigenous people, recognize the contributions Indigenous people have made to United States history and culture, and more. Be a part of the conversation.

Attend the first University of Miami Computing Day.
Friday, April 14, at 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Computing Day is part of a broad initiative to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in computing. The on-campus event will feature keynote speakers, a poster/demo competition with up to $1,000 in prize money, and discussions on leading innovations in the field. Register now.

The Office of the President is now accepting nominations for the Roberta “Bosey” Fulbright Foote Prize, an award recognizing an individual or team who has made an enduring contribution to the beauty, humanity, and future of the University of Miami’s campuses. Award recipients will be announced during Hug the Lake, an annual ceremony located at the Lakeside Patio Stage on the Coral Gables Campus. Nominate a person or group.
