If you haven't already done so, enroll in or make changes to your 2020 medical, dental, short-term disability, and flexible spending account (FSA) benefits by Friday, Nov. 1. Faculty Senate meeting

Learn to live mindfully
Monday, Nov. 4–Friday, Nov. 8 at 12 p.m.
Explore the basic tenets of mindfulness and review the significance of mindful living through a guided mindfulness practice. Increase engagement with the present moment and gain a clearer understanding of how thoughts and emotions impact our health and the quality of our lives. UM employees can register to attend a session, which is organized by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program. Employees enrolled in UM’s Well ’Canes incentives program can earn points by attending these sessions. Learn more by reading the latest newsletter.

Compliance and ethics at the U 
Monday, Nov. 4–Friday, Nov. 8
No matter your role at the University everyone has an opportunity to learn about various compliance, ethics, and risk management initiatives during Compliance and Ethics Week. Mark your calendars for upcoming events scheduled on the Coral Gables and medical campuses. Tune in Monday, Nov. 4 at the Gables campus to learn about reporting sexual harassment and misconduct from keynote speaker Marcia Narine Weldon, a lecturer in legal communications and compliance courses at UM. Join the UHealth compliance team at the compliance and ethics fair and seminars on Wednesday, Nov. 6, and Friday, Nov. 8, respectively. Register to attend a scheduled seminar via ULearn by searching for “Compliance and Ethics Week Seminar.” All events are free and open to all UM students, faculty, and staff.

BOGO deals in your backyard

To celebrate UM’s homecoming—which starts Monday, Nov. 4—two local businesses are offering the University community a sweet deal on some tasty delights. Newly opened Mojo Donuts is offering buy-one-get-one donuts starting Tuesday, Oct. 29 through Tuesday, Nov. 5, while supplies last. Starting Monday, Oct. 28 through Wednesday, Nov. 6, dine-in customers at 3 Chefs and a Chicken between 2 and 10 p.m. can present this ad and snag a free regular Chefen with the purchase of one. These offers are only available for UM students, faculty, and staff with a valid ’Cane ID  at the locations on US1 near the Coral Gables campus.
