Students, faculty, and staff lined up on the Student Center Complex patio on Wednesday for free samples of a favorite Latin American dish—arroz con pollo—as the University of Miami continued its celebration of all things Cuba with a “Discover Cuba” event featuring live cooking demonstrations and a variety of stations promoting and exhibiting the culture and history of the island nation.
Organized by the Federación de Estudiantes Cubanos, the annual Week of Cuban Culture, which culminated on Thursday with a Carnaval-style event , also featured a Pedro Pan Exodus Forum, traditional Cuban breakfast, fashion show, a special screening of Scarface, a domino tournament, and more.
