Tropical Storm Erika – Final Advisory

Tropical Storm Erika has dissipated into a trough of low pressure and is no longer an organized storm. All operations on all campuses throughout the University are normal.

Tropical Storm Erika has dissipated into a trough of low pressure and is no longer an organized storm, the National Weather Service advised Saturday morning. Heavy rains are still expected to impact Florida and areas of South Florida later this weekend, and into the start of next week. Students, faculty, and staff are advised to be careful during commutes, or any other travel in the area.

The University will continue to monitor the remnants of Erika, and any severe weather that potentially will impact our area. All operations on all campuses throughout the University are normal.

The University is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Erika as it continues to move to the West. All operations on all campuses throughout the University are normal at this time.

The University is preparing for any possible impacts from Tropical Storm Erika later this weekend. Should Erika pose a threat to South Florida, meetings will be held in the Residential Colleges and University Village to provide instructions to residents on storm preparations and precautions.

Possible decisions on changes in University operations and rescheduling of events on Sunday and Monday, August 30-31, may be reached tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, August 29. Please continue to monitor official University communications on any changes that may be implemented.
