Florida State at Miami Football Game to be Played as Scheduled
Tailgating lot hours slightly adjusted
The University of Miami football team’s game with Florida State will be played as scheduled on Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium with kickoff set for 8 p.m.
The decision to move forward with the game came after numerous conversations between Florida State, the ACC, Hard Rock Stadium, the University of Miami and through consultation with Miami Dade County.
Fans should be aware that for tomorrow’s game, the Green and RV tailgating lots will now open at 4 p.m., while the Blue, Maroon, Yellow, Purple and Orange lots will open at 5 p.m.
Any individuals who do not have a ticket to the game, or do not have a ticket waiting at will call or on a pass list, will not be permitted to enter the tailgating area at Hard Rock Stadium.

Richter Library will reopen at 3 p.m. and close at 10 p.m.
All open and group study spaces will be available on the first and second floor; there will be no access to the stacks tower (floors 4-9).
Full Richter services will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday morning as usual.

UM's Richter Library is scheduled to resume normal hours of operation on Saturday, October 8. Library administration is currently working to identify staff coverage and will try to reopen sooner if possible. An update will be posted when available.

Exterior inspections began at first light this morning to assess any damage and determine overall safety of our Coral Gables, RSMAS and Medical campus facilities.
Dining Services will open at 9 a.m. for breakfast/brunch through 2 p.m.

What is the situation regarding safety and security at the Residential Colleges? All Residential College desks are fully staffed with professional staff, security and police availability. Students have been asked not to leave until the conclusion of the storm. University senior leadership, including the vice president for student affairs, will be on campus through the weather event.
How is food being provided at the Residential Colleges? Resident Dining Halls will be open for the following schedules and will serve food until weather conditions worsen. The schedule can change depending on conditions. When winds diminish and the all clear is given by the University, Resident Dining Halls will return to regular service for the next regular meal period. - University Village students will be served in the dining halls in the event there is loss of electricity
- All retail locations are currently closed. They are scheduled to reopen at the regular schedule on Saturday
- MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat) are at the residential colleges. They are not intended to be used unless dining halls are closed for an extended period of time
The Ponce Garage will be closed effective 1 p.m. Thursday. It will reopen following the weather event. All other campus parking garages are closed.

No Evacuations Ordered in Miami-Dade County
No evacuations have been ordered in Miami-Dade County, and no Hurricane Evacuation Centers have been opened. The Miami-Dade County Emergency Status website is a resource off-campus students can refer to for updated information about closures and services.

Hurricanes, FSU Game Still On
The Miami Hurricanes play host to the Florida State Seminoles Saturday at the Hard Rock Stadium, with kick off scheduled for 8 p.m. With Hurricane Matthew expected to sideswipe the state Thursday and into Friday, officials are monitoring the system and its impact on the game. University of Miami Athletics Director Blake James said at this time no decision has been made to cancel or postpone the game. “We are monitoring Hurricane Matthew, and are in constant contact with stadium personnel,” James said. “We are hopeful that the impact of Hurricane Matthew will be minimal and the game between the Hurricanes and Seminoles will be played as planned.”

The dedications of the Koenigsberg & Nadal Interactive Media Center and the Robert & Lauren Mann Broadcast Center, scheduled for Friday, October 7, 2016 starting at 2 p.m. at the School of Communication have been postponed. Parking and Transportation Update - Storm Preparation
Following the announcement that the university will officially close from 5:00pm on Wednesday 5th October and remain closed for Thursday and Friday, please note the following important updates:
Parking Garages:
The parking garages are now available to anyone with a valid UM parking permit on a first come first served basis. Please note that security officers are posted at all garages and anyone without a valid UM permit will not be allowed to enter.
Shuttle Buses:
The shuttle buses will continue to operate on their normal routes until 7:00pm, today Wednesday 5th October (2 hours after the University¹s official closure). At that time, all shuttles services will cease to operate until such time that the storm has passed and the Crisis Decision Team have deemed it safe to resume operations.
