Muslim Students of the University of Miami will hold a prayer service at 12:45 p.m. Friday at the Lakeside Patio in remembrance of the victims of the mass shooting that took place last week in New Zealand.

The prayer service will be presided over by Imam Abdul Samra, and will include an interfaith prayer with other members of the University’s Chaplains Association. Remarks will be made by Muslim students and Ryan Holmes, dean of students.

The program will be followed by an invitation to attendees to participate in the Jumu’ah prayer, which begins at 1:30.

Fifty people were killed March 15 when a gunman opened fire at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
