The Office of Emergency Management will conduct a full system test of the ENN system between 1:45 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29. This test will include the activation of the following communication methods:
- SMS Text Messages to Cell Phones
- Voice Calls to Cell Phones
- Emergency Information Hotline (1-800-227-0354)
- University of Miami Website Banners
- Emergency Preparedness Website: www.prepare.miami.edu
- Emergency Preparedness Facebook: www.facebook.com/umiamienn
- Emergency Preparedness Twitter: www.twitter.com/umiamienn
- Campus Cable TV (Gables campus only)
- Digital Signage (Select Gables campus buildings)
- Outdoor Warning Sirens (Gables and Rosenstiel campuses only)
- Public Address (Gables campus buildings and outdoor areas listed below)
The test messages last approximately one minute and will all clearly state, “This is a test of the UMiami Emergency Notification Network. This is only a test. No further actions are required.”
