As part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the University of Miami is challenging rival Florida schools in Cyber Bowl 2023, an online cybersecurity awareness game taking place on the virtual playing field. The competition kicks off Monday, Oct. 9, and ends Friday, Oct. 20. Faculty and staff members and students will be entered for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card for participating.
Here’s everything you need to know about helping the ’Canes take home a Cyber Bowl victory.
What is it?
The Cyber Bowl is a virtual four-part game that challenges participants to answer questions about cybersecurity. Players don’t have to answer correctly to help the ’Canes win. Instead, the team or school with the most participants will take the victory.
How do I play?
- Visit it.miami.edu/cyberbowl anytime from Oct. 9 through Oct. 20, and answer the challenge questions.
- After completing the challenge questions, you’ll be redirected to a page with each of the competing teams. On this page, you must click the UM helmet and sign in with your CaneID to officially participate.
- Faculty and staff members and students will be entered for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card by participating with their UM credentials. Find step-by-step instructions.
How do we win?
The winner of the Cyber Bowl 2023 is awarded based on the number of people participating—from Oct. 9 through Oct. 20—not correct answers. By following the step-by-step instructions, you’ll help the ’Canes get closer to becoming the reigning champion, and you will be entered for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card.
