Engage in dialogue about the human experience.
Through the One Book, One U program, the University community has an opportunity to explore issues of diversity and inclusion through the reading of a selected text. Written by Jonathan Escoffery, this year’s selection, “If I Survive You,” is composed of eight interconnected short stories about a Jamaican family striving for more in Miami. This month, Escoffery will participate in three free events at the Coral Gables Campus.

Lowe Connects: Banned! Storytellers
Inspired by the rich oral traditions of indigenous and POC communities, “Banned! Storytellers," is an activation curated by Chris Friday that explores the various ways that stories of family, culture, and history are passed down from generation to generation. Within the walls and emptied shelves of the Banned! Interactive Lucy St. library, participating artists will gather to tell stories of collective remembrance, perseverance, and hope for the future through performances of spoken word, music, and banned book readings. Sight-Line Trajectories: Antonietta Grassi, Janet Jones, Amy Schissel
