Alyssa Wood: ‘Scales’

On view March 8 through 29, the University community is invited to the opening reception of “Scales,” an exhibition by Master of Fine Arts candidate Alyssa Wood, which features a collection of multidisciplinary works including taxidermy, stop-motion animation, and large-scale photographic prints. Wood seeks to challenge traditional notions of gender by dismantling the binaries that confine and restrict our understanding of what it means to be feminine. Learn more.

19th Century African American Female Physicians: A traveling exhibit

Currently at the Medical Campus, this exhibit aims to illuminate the remarkable contributions and challenges faced by African American female physicians during the 19th century, a period marked by significant obstacles to their professional pursuits. Funded by a 2023 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Mini-Grant Award from the Office of Faculty Affairs, the exhibit was organized by a group of faculty and staff members and seeks to honor the legacy of these pioneering women.
