Pizza with Provost Prado
Tuesday, Sept. 24, at noon
University students are invited to meet Guillermo “Willy” Prado, interim executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, at the Lakeside Canopy on the Coral Gables Campus. Free pizza will be provided; first-come, first-served basis.

Attend the next Faculty Senate meeting
Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 3:30 p.m.
All members of the University Faculty are invited to attend the next senate meeting, held at the Faculty Club located at 1350 Miller Drive, Coral Gables, FL. Participants are encouraged to learn more about the Faculty Senate and its representatives. View all meeting dates for the 2024-2025 academic year. University student teams pitch ideas, compete to win seed money.
Thursday, Sept. 26, 3-6 p.m.
The inaugural cohort of 10 student teams—who each received an initial $10,000 capital investment in the spring—will now compete for the next round of funding, mentoring, and growth with potential seed funding awards of $100,000. The startups represent industries ranging from medical technology, sports, agriculture, AI, and education. Hosted by University Student Startup Accelerator or USTAAR, the multidisciplinary student accelerator program within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship provides mentoring and direct capital investment in student-led startups at the University and is open to undergraduate and graduate students as well as those in training positions such as postdoctoral associates. The University community is invited to attend the program’s first Demo Day and Pitch Competition at the Lakeside Expo Center on the Coral Gables Campus.
