Attend a Canes Total Rewards Benefits Fair
Multiple dates starting Monday, Oct. 14
During Open Enrollment, University faculty and staff members can enroll in or make changes to medical, dental, vision, disability, flexible spending account(s), legal, and voluntary accidental death and dismemberment benefits. Take advantage of the available resources, attend a benefits fair—both in person and virtual—and make informed decisions about coverage for 2025. This year, Open Enrollment runs from Monday, Oct. 14, through Friday, Nov. 1, in Workday.

Pizza with Provost Prado
Wednesday, Oct. 16, at noon
University students are invited to meet Guillermo “Willy” Prado, interim executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Science courtyard on Virginia Key. Free pizza will be provided; first-come, first-served basis.

Climate Café Series: ‘A Bright Lit Place’ Part 1
Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m.
Hosted by the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science, the 2024 program will kick off with an overview of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, the largest water restoration project in U.S. history. Led by WLRN environment reporter Jenny Staletovich, the discussion will guide participants through the facts and the science that helped build the foundation for the plan. The Climate Café Series is a signature event of the Rosenstiel School that invites students and the public to learn about leading-edge climate science happening at the school and to understand how this research is relevant to South Florida and beyond. Food Day 2024
Friday, Oct. 18, through Saturday, Oct. 19
In honor of World Food Day, an international event promoted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the Office of Sustainability invites the University community to learn ways to fight food insecurity. Participants will have an opportunity to get expert tips on how to start an edible garden and attend a tour in Homestead of the Agro Eco Park—an initiative aimed at showcasing the principles of agroecology to both farmers and the local community. Family Art Workshop: ‘Virgil Ortiz: Slipstream’
Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. 
Experienced artists and/or curious beginners can join Sarah Laing, Lowe Art Museum teaching artist, for an interactive experience working with various mediums, colors, and techniques. Part of a monthly program designed for intergenerational groups, this family workshop complements works in the Lowe's “Virgil Ortiz: Slipstream,” on view from Oct. 18, 2024, through Jan. 11, 2025. Purchase tickets—$5 per participant.
