Study Abroad celebrates international education
Last week, the University of Miami Study Abroad office celebrated International Education Week, an annual commemoration of the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. In 2021 the office launched a list of international recommended reading that serves as a place for the greater University community to promote international authors and books that immerse us in different cultures. All Canes are invited to submit their recommendations of books set outside of the U.S. that immerse the reader in a culture of a particular place, and educate the reader about the country’s history, identity, people, or its landscape. Express gratitude for a colleague.
Now.
Appreciation fosters connection. Through the Thank a Cane initiative, University members can express immediate appreciation to colleagues, classmates, or instructors by sending a virtual note of gratitude. Choose from preset card designs and write a custom message for the recipient. If the sender and recipient of the eCard choose to make it public, it is added to a University-wide repository of appreciation. Additionally, you can view a list of cards you have received and sent.
