ICYMI: Frost Band of the Hour turns up the volume
The Hurricanes’ iconic marching band ushers in a new era with increased funding and dynamic leadership, bringing fresh beats and a revitalized vision. “We are marching into the future—stronger, louder, and prouder than ever. With new musical selections, bigger performances, and a dedication to both tradition and innovation, our band is growing in numbers and impact,” said Craig McKenzie, director of athletic bands. National Science Foundation CAREER Award workshop
Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 3:30 p.m.
The University community is invited to an information session and dialogue about the prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER Award for early-career faculty in the sciences. University of Miami researchers, leaders, and previous awardees will share their past experiences and strategies with interested faculty. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions, network, and learn about upcoming sessions and resources to assist with their proposals. Taking Up Space at the U
Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m.
Through a partnership between Women Making Moves, Women's Commission, and American Council on Education event, the University community is invited to a candid conversation on self-leadership featuring various female voices from the U. A panel of University leaders will share their experiences and engage in small group conversations with attendees. Register to attend the event at the Lakeside Pavilion on the Coral Gables Campus.

The Legacy of Sofía Ímber: Pioneering Journalist, Museum Founder and Director
Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m.
Join University Libraries in celebrating the legacy of Sofía Ímber, a pioneering Venezuelan journalist, founder of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas, and the first woman to win Venezuela's National Journalism Prize among numerous International honors. In 2022, her family donated her collection to the University of Miami Libraries. Register to attend the reception at the Kislak Center on the Coral Gables Campus.

‘Head Over Heels’ takes the stage at the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre. 
Nov. 15-22, at 8 p.m. 
A bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” “Avenue Q,” and “Spring Awakening,” this laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s. The show follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction—only to discover the key to their realm’s survival lies within each of their own hearts.
