School of Communication Research Day

The University of Miami School of Communication Research Day is an annual event showcasing innovative research and creative activity from faculty and graduate students across various communication disciplines. The event features short presentations, exploring topics like serious games, journalism, public relations, health communication, film, media studies, and emerging communication technologies. Research Day fosters academic collaboration, critical thinking, and engagement with industry trends, providing a platform for participants to share insights with the broader University community. Climate Resilience Week kicks off with Resilience 365 Conference.
March 24-25, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Hosted by the University of Miami Climate Resilience Institute, in partnership with Miami Climate 365 and Miami-Dade County, the University community is invited to the Resilience 365 Conference: Catalytic Conversations for the Next 100 Years, a two-day conference that aims to bring together communities and thought leaders to catalyze action related to driving tech innovation, financing resilience infrastructure, and fostering healthy communities. This conference serves as the cornerstone of the inaugural Miami Climate Week, a series of communitywide events designed to spark conversation, action, and network building around resilience from March 23 to 29. ‘New Box New Musicals’ launches at the new Black Box Theatre.
Tuesday, March 25, through Saturday, March 29
As part of the grand opening of a new Black Box Theatre, the Department of TheatreArts will be presenting five new musicals written and developed by students of the Tisch School of the Arts, Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at New York University (NYU). This new creative partnership with NYU will be under the direction and musical direction of David “NDavid” Williams. Funny, poignant, and thought-provoking—often at the same time—these 20-minute musicals are tiny jewels of musical storytelling. The production opens on Tuesday, March 25, at 8 p.m. in the new Black Box Theatre and runs through Saturday, March 29, with a 2 p.m. matinee and evening performance. Tickets are free, but reservations are strongly recommended.
