ArtCare and History of the Conservation Lab Presentation

As part of Preservation Week, ArtCare Conservation—a nationally renowned firm specializing in the preservation of paintings—will share insights into their work and offer a fascinating glimpse into the world of art conservation. Additionally, Cheryl Gowing, associate dean at University Libraries, will present the inspiring story behind the development and creation of the Conservation Lab on the first floor of the Otto G. Richter Library—a project to which she was instrumental in laying the foundation and bringing to life. This collaborative event highlights the valuable exchange of knowledge across conservation specialties, enriching our understanding of the field while celebrating the importance of preserving history. University student teams pitch ideas, compete to win seed money
Wednesday, April 30, 4-7 p.m.
The second cohort of University of Miami student founders from schools—including engineering, medicine, communication, business, marine science, and music—will compete for up to five $100K investments. Hosted by University Student Startup Accelerator or USTAAR, the multidisciplinary student accelerator program within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship provides mentoring and direct capital investment in student-led startups at the University and is open to undergraduate and graduate students as well as those in training positions such as postdoctoral associates. The University community is invited to attend USTAAR Demo Day and Pitch Competition at the Hecht Green Room, Centennial Village on the Coral Gables Campus. Register to attend this free event.
