Digital research workshop series
Multiple dates throughout the fall semester
Offering workshops and seminars on data analytics, research tools, visualizations, and GIS, the digital research tool kit is open to all students and faculty and staff members of any discipline who are conducting research. Presented by the University of Miami Libraries, fall topics include integrating AI into research, the online electronic theses and dissertations submission process, and creating interactive maps and digital narratives. Register for this week’s upcoming workshops, including Introduction to LaTeX, Introduction to SPSS, and Create Engaging Interactive Digital Narratives with ArcGIS StoryMaps.
‘Petah Coyne: How Much A Heart Can Hold’ opening reception
Thursday, Sept. 18, 7-9 p.m.
Organized into three thematic sections—Women’s Work, Women Obscured and Transformed, and Women’s Relationships—this exhibition highlights Petah Coyne’s fascination with feminine identity and her deep reverence for underrecognized female writers and historical figures. It also provides a compelling snapshot of the artist’s decades-long career and is complemented by a fully illustrated scholarly catalogue. Purchase tickets to attend the opening reception at the Lowe Art Museum.
Join the University’s fall 2025 intramural pickleball and soccer leagues
Registration starts Monday, Sept. 29
University faculty and staff members are invited to register for the fall 2025 pickleball and soccer leagues on the Coral Gables Campus. Participants are not required to have membership to the Patti and Allan Herbert Wellness Center. The first pickleball game kicks off Sunday, Oct. 19. Soccer kicks off Sunday, Nov. 9. Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs

The University of Miami Libraries’ Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs are offered by library employees and community partners who come together to create experiential opportunities to cultivate mental health and well-being. Canes can participate in Mindfulness for Inner Resilience—45-minute online sessions that introduce the fundamentals of mindfulness meditation and movement with periods of guided practice and opportunities for reflection and questions. Register for gentle yoga practice that aims to build strength and flexibility while cultivating self-awareness, balance, and inner peace. New this year, student-only mindfulness sessions are designed to help students cope with worry and anxiety. At the Richter Library, access the Meditation Room, a dedicated space on the second floor that exists for the purposes of meditation, prayer, contemplation, and reflection by individuals or small groups.
Toppel Industry Career Fairs

Meet employers ready to hire Canes for internships and employment opportunities at the upcoming career fairs hosted by the Toppel Career Center. Current University students and alumni interested in pursuing careers in health care, accounting, or engineering are invited to explore career options and learn about the skills and experiences that will increase their hiring potential. Remember to bring copies of your résumé and dress professionally.
