Cultivate your knowledge of native crops at the ‘Roots of the Americas’ exhibit opening
Thursday, Feb. 26, 6-8 p.m.
Drawing on materials from the Jay I. Kislak Collection of the Early Americas, Exploration, and Navigation, “Roots of the Americas” explores the enduring significance of crops native to the Americas, including corn, tobacco, cacao, and a variety of medicinal flora. The exhibition highlights the deep relationships Indigenous communities developed with these crops, and the ways botanical knowledge and agricultural practices shaped societies across the hemisphere long before the arrival of Europeans. The community is invited to attend the opening reception

‘Twelfth Night’ takes the stage at the Jerry Herman Theatre
Thursday, Feb. 27 through Thursday, March 5
Twelfth Night,” named for the twelfth night after Christmas, is a delightful exploration of love and power. A Shakespearean comedy about mistaken identity, love, and disguise, the play weaves together relationships, creating a complex tapestry that is then beautifully unraveled. Purchase tickets to see University theatre arts students perform, including two shows on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Contact the box office at theatre@miami.edu or 305-284-3355 for more details.
