Building Your Canvas Course: Foundations
Wednesday, May 20 and May 27, 10-11:30 a.m.
In this hands‑on virtual workshop, faculty and staff members will be introduced to the foundational Canvas tools used to structure a course and guide student progress. Participants will explore course settings and navigation, modules, and core content types, along with practical strategies for organizing materials and setting clear assignment expectations. Workshops are held daily and designed as a flexible course-building sprint before spring ends. Learn more and register to attend.

Your Mental Health Resources: How to Access Care Quickly
Thursday, May 21, 9-9:30 a.m.
Are you interested in learning more about University mental health resources but not sure where to start? Staff and faculty members are invited to explore the Mental and Behavioral Health Resource Guide and learn how to use it to quickly find the right resources based on needs. The guide, which will also be shared with attendees during the session, is designed to reduce guesswork by helping to identify options by level of urgency and outlining simple next steps to access support. This session will be facilitated by Erin Kobetz, vice president for health promotion and chief well-being officer. Register for the virtual session.

Green Alumni: Zero Waste Miami
Tuesday, May 26, noon-1 p.m.
Join University alumni Caiti Waks, co-founder and president of Debris Free Oceans, and Maddie Kaufman, Zero-Waste institutional change director, for a conversation focusing on the development of a local economy centered on reducing, reusing, repairing, recycling, and composting materials. Zero Waste Miami is a coalition spearheaded by Miami nonprofit Debris Free Oceans, which aims to unite various stakeholders including nonprofit, business, and government entities. Hágase el verso: Poesía reunida de José Martí

The Cuban Heritage Collection at University Libraries hosts the official launch of “Hágase el verso: Poesía reunida de José Martí,” honoring of the life and work of José Martí—the “universal Cuban” whose voice continues to shape the cultural and political imagination of Latin America and its diasporas.
