Fuku opens at Lakeside Village
What started as a secret off-menu favorite at David Chang’s renowned Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City quickly became too popular to stay hidden. Set to open later this fall, Canes will be able to enjoy Fuku’s signature sandwiches, crispy fries and bold flavors right on campus.Starbucks’ app now accepts Dining Dollars
Students can now use their Dining Dollars through the Starbucks’ app at the Donna E. Shalala Student Center location. A favorite lunch option for Canes, the Well Canes Marketplace returns to the Coral Gables Campus at Miller Circle on Wednesdays from Aug. 19 through Dec. 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.At the Medical Campus, the Well Canes Marketplace runs every Thursday year-round at Fred Cowell Mall, in front of the Louis Calder Memorial Library, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Note the market at both campuses is closed on all University holidays and on Nov. 25 at the Coral Gables Campus.

Get ready for One Book One U by picking up a free copy of “World of Wonders” by Aimee Nezhukumatathil, an American poet and essayist. Students are also encouraged to showcase their creativity by entering the One Book One U student poster contest by Friday, Nov. 20.Get career-ready with expanded coaching hours
The Toppel Career Center is expanding its Career Coaching services in the Learning Commons, located on the first floor of the Otto G. Richter Library on the Coral Gables Campus. Career coaches are now available Mondays through Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m.Get tech support in a new spot

Parking and Transportation
For parking locations and permit zones, please view the Coral Gables Campus parking map. As a reminder, permit color restrictions are lifted daily from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m., providing additional parking options for permit holders across campus during evening hours. Vehicles must be returned to an authorized location before restrictions resume at 8 a.m. to avoid citations.
Update to electronic micromobility devices on campus
To support a safer, more accessible and pedestrian-friendly campus environment, the Coral Gables Campus has updated its approach to electronic micromobility devices. As of Aug. 1, electronic scooters, e-bikes, hoverboards, electric skateboards and similar motorized micromobility devices may not be operated, parked, stored or charged on the Coral Gables Campus.Designated micromobility parking areas will be available at several convenient perimeter locations. Mobility devices used by individuals with mobility-related disabilities, such as motorized wheelchairs and mobility scooters, are exempt from this policy. Real-time parking availability feature now campuswide
Now available across the Coral Gables Campus through the UMiami App, this smart parking feature provides real-time parking availability, allowing Canes to check parking conditions before arriving on campus. Read more about campus parking advisory updates.Resident student parking update
Beginning Aug. 17, residents living in Centennial Village, Eaton Residential College and Lakeside Village will be required to park in the Mahoney-Pearson Garage. The garage will remain open, with vehicle access from Ponce de Leon Boulevard via the designated entrance and exit.A dedicated, well-lit pedestrian pathway with a security presence will connect the garage to campus via Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Stanford Drive. Residents may continue to utilize designated loading and unloading areas at Lakeside Village. Read more about campus parking advisory updates.

Learn about Zero Waste at the U
Recycle right. Place only clean cardboard, paper, empty bottles and cans in recycling chutes or bins. Don’t place plastic bags in the recycling chutes or bins. Instead, empty their contents and place the bags in the white plastic bag recycling bin located in each residential hall lobby. Learn more about campus recycling initiatives.
Turn your veggie scraps into compost
Did you know that the University composts all kitchen scraps from its dining halls? Residents can join the University’s composting efforts by placing compostable vegetable scraps in a resealable plastic bag in the Lakeside Village food pantry refrigerator, located in Room 1054. Furnish your place, make a donation
The Canes Resale program allows first-year students to acquire gently used appliances that were donated by students who graduated in the spring semester in exchange for a small donation to the Sustainability Garden. Visit the Green Move In page for more information.Become a Green U Ambassador
First-year students and sophomores who are passionate about sustainability may apply to join the Green U Ambassador program. Students will receive training from the Student Government ECO Agency’s campus engagement team and learn how to educate peers about programs offered by Green U and the ECO Agency.
