Relax and renew
Tuesday, April 9—Friday, April 12
If you experience stress throughout the year, practicing relaxation techniques can be especially important for your health as it can have significant physical health benefits. Take a break from your busy workweek to join an upcoming seminar and learn more. UM employees can register to attend the session, which is facilitated by a Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) consultant. Employees enrolled in UM’s Well ’Canes program can earn Pure Wellness points by attending this session. Learn more about FSAP by reading the latest newsletter.

Plan smart, shop smart, eat smart
Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12
Join UHealth experts at one of two events this week highlighting tips for a healthy lifestyle. On Thursday, April 11 at the Herbert Wellness Center on the Gables campus, Michelle Pearlman, M.D., a specialist in gastroenterology at UHealth, and Jacqueline Colon, RD, LD/N, a registered dietician at the Diabetes Research Institute, will discuss hot topics including artificial sweeteners, ketogenic dieting, and intermittent fasting. Then on Friday, April 12 Colon will be at the UHealth Fitness and Wellness Center on the medical campus to share tips and tricks for meal planning, smart shopping, and understanding food labels. Both talks are free and open to the public. Employees enrolled in UM’s Well ’Canes program can earn points by attending these sessions.
