Mental Health Awareness Month
May 1–31
This month, mental health professionals and UM leaders are encouraging faculty and staff to care for their well-being and raise awareness of mental illness. As part of Mental Health Awareness Month the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program and Human Resources will highlight resources, benefits, events, and expert tips that are available to employees. Coral Gables campus parking updates
Starting Thursday, May 9
Spring commencement takes center stage and summer schedules will closely follow. Stay ahead of parking changes and restrictions starting this week. First up: commencement ceremonies begin Thursday, May 9 through Saturday, May 11 at the Watsco Center. Elevated traffic levels are expected up to two hours before and after each ceremony. Dining hours at the Gables campus

If you’re dining on the Coral Gables campus, be sure to check the UM Dining site, where hours of operation are always listed. During summer there are closures and shorted hours at many of the retail spots and residential dining halls. But before students head home, enjoy some Mexican fare during Taco Tuesday at Hecht-Stanford and Mahoney-Pearson dining halls available from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. View campus dining hours at https://dineoncampus.com/miami/campus-dining-hours

Portion control and our growing waistlines become a hot topic during this presentation, complete with a “carb lab” for participants to explore. Join experts Michelle Pearlman, MD, and Jacqueline Colon, RD, LD/N, at UHealth Fitness and Wellness Center for a free event on Friday, May 10 as they discuss these topics and more.
