Members of the University of Miami community are invited to participate in various World Food Day celebrations scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 18.

During the Fair Food Fair, which will take place on the Lakeside Patio from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., taste a delicious organic iced tea brewed from herbs grown at the University’s Sustainability Gardens, and learn about local urban farming, community gardens, composting, and more.

The evening keynote, “Your Diet Makes a Difference,” will be presented by Jennifer Jacquet, professor of environmental science and policy at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science. Jacquet will discuss sustainable foods, the climate impacts of our current global animal food system, and the role water resources plays in the future of the planet.

The keynote event will take place at the Frost Institute for Chemistry and Molecular Science Room 115, from 6 to 8 p.m.
