With a vision to make Miami a leader in technology and innovation, Venture Miami is hosting a tech hiring fair on Thursday, Dec. 2, at Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus. The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and will feature an open networking opportunity with dozens of companies that are looking to expand their teams with local talent.

Venture Miami, a task force which brings together experts in technology and entrepreneurship, has partnered with University of Miami President Julio Frenk, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami Dade College President Madeline Pumariega, and Florida International University President Mark Rosenberg for an evening of community building and engagement.

“The University of Miami prides itself on bringing together people and ideas,” said Frenk. “At this exciting moment in our city’s development, collaboration around tech—producing the innovations, research, and talent to drive the sector forward—is more important than ever.”

The Toppel Career Center, the University’s hub for assisting ’Canes with every part of their path to career success, will also be in attendance at the tech hiring fair. Venture Miami has registered so far nearly 35 companies with more than 1,100 open technology positions to fill, including Magic Leap, Blockchain.com, and Coinbase.

This is a unique opportunity for University of Miami students to make personal connections with hiring managers and recruiters from some top tech companies.

The event is free and open to the public. Job seekers should come ready for on-site interviews and on-the-spot hiring. Interested participants are highly encouraged to pre-register.
